• The influences of Gothic style in furniture design; new technologies
• Renaissance and its development; influences on the furniture design of different countries
• Baroque and its characteristics in different European regions; most notable craftsmen of the Baroque era and their designs
Study outcome
Upon completion of the course, students will:
• be familiar with the development of everyday furniture used by nomadic cultures;
• comprehend the development of furniture design in the early cultures and the antiquity.
• comprehend the development of furniture design in post-Roman period and the following early style periods;
• know the stages of development of furniture design in different European regions.
