• Introducing the tasks of the course, documenting the condition of objects and mapping the damage
• Detecting the construction solution of a furniture piece and its deconstruction, if necessary
• Necessary mending and filling of construction elements
• Restoring the surface finish
• Correcting and assembling the fittings

| Study outcome |
Upon completion of the course, students will:
• learn how to detect the most common damages found on cabinet furniture and to prepare a restoration plan;
• be familiar with the different cabinet furniture construction solutions;
• be able to detect later modifications made in the construction;
• be able to map the detected technical problems;
• be familiar with the simpler panel and frame structure types. |
