various lecturers and topics, lectures, study visits, movies and videos;
introduction to design, design in broader context/design as a process;
creative industry as a trigger for innovation, creative industry in Estonia and in the world;
brand and entrepreneurship;
applied art and design, design policy;
Estonian applied art/design and designers;
practical example – work as a designer;
intellectual property as a right, its types (copyright and industrial design right, trademarks and inventions) and the importance of its protection. |

| Aim |
| To provide an overview of the specifics of design, creative industry, brand and entrepreneurship. To provide students with sufficient information, in order to support them in their choice between the specialty modules. |

Upon completion, students will:
be familiar with the topics of design;
be familiar with the terminology of design;
be aware of the role of design in society;
be able to assess their suitability for the design work. |
