 the history of restoration and conservation;
 the ethics and philosophy of restoration and conservation;
 Estonian system (legislation, institutions, education, people, job opportunities);
 Visits to the conservation institutions
Aim
To provide an overview of the history, terminology and specifics of conservation and restoration. To provide students with sufficient information, in order they can choose between the specialty modules.
Study outcome
Upon completion, students will:
 be familiar with the terminology of restoration;
 be aware of the role of conservation/restoration in the preservation of cultural heritage;
 know the requirements for the profession;
 be able to assess their suitability for the restoration works.
