• pinhole photography as a means to the very basics of image formation
• pinhole photography as a creative alternative in a digitally dominant age
• the construction and operating principles of pinhole cameras
• the calculation/determination of aperture/focus distance/exposure
• photographing with a pinhole camera
• analysis of the results and a group crit
Aim
To teach students the fundamentals of photography, demonstrate the basic principles of image formation.
Study outcome
On successful completion of this course the students should be able to:
• know the basic principles of image formation
• perceive the possibilities to use alternative photographic techniques in contemporary digitally dominant environment;
• construct a pinhole camera and determine it's technical characteristics;
• use pinhole camera for creative processes
• critically and analytically assess the results of one's work
