• physical connections and properties of light and color;
• additive and subtractive method of color formation; primary and secondary colors;
• color balance, saturation, intensity and contrast, color temperature, broken hues, pastel hues, warm and cold tonality
• the differences between black and white and color photography;
• color in photography as a source of meaning
• solving practical technical and creative tasks;
• critique seminars
Study outcome
On successful completion of this course the students should be able to:
• know the basics of color theory and able to use this in photographic expression;
• purposefully use color to form photographs, both technically and creatively;
• produce innovative results using color photography;
• systematically apply the expressive elements of light, perspective and color to achieve creative results;
• constructively analyze and criticize color photographs;
