• the photograph as a sub-genre of the panel image; panel image evolution and variations; panel image as a commercial object;
• the plurality of forms and formats: a historical overview;
• the morphology of an artwork in in contemporary art;
• the industrial standardization of photographic formats; ways of surpassing the standard formats;
• the morphological plurality of photography: the image and aspect ratio; vertical and horizontal panorama;
• image, light box, projection; projections in different environments and in public space;
• site-specific photographic artworks
• pre-photography and photography-related historical (17-19 cent) image formats;
• the digital formats of photography and their morphology of of photography |

| Study outcome |
On successful completion of this course the students should be able to:
• have an integrated historical knowledge of different formats in visual arts;
• have integrated knowledge of the evolution of different forms in photography;
• understand the reasons for and the significations of different formats in contemporary art;
• navigate in the morphological multitude of the photographic image;
• choose the suitable format in accordance with the character of their work;
• can differentiate between the semantic and decorative aspects of different formats;
• create image formats and morphological materializations which speak to the contemporary audience; |
