General description
• The history of presenting imaginary, impossible and unprecedented space in fine art, architecture and literature
• Further development of the topic in digital surroundings
Aim
The objective is to examine the problematics of virtual reality in the historical and technological perspective. Virtual reality as a metaphor and practical application. The utilization of virtual space in industry, design and art.
Study outcome
Upon completion of the course, students will:
1. understand virtual reality as a historical, cultural and technological theme, that has been dealt with in different eras;
2. possess knowledge of contemporary interactive and virtual art, and developing trends connected to the subject of virtual space;
3. be able to plan and design a real or metaphorical space as a two-dimensional computer project or visualisation.
