| General description |

• Students will take two photos in the studio – a product photo and cover photo for an imaginary product catalogue.
• Work will be done in pairs. Photographer and the assistant, change of roles.
• A workshop where the lecturer will take a product photo and cover photo of the chosen product will precede the assignments. |

| Aim |

| The objective is to apprehend the methods of taking product photos through given assignments and by using artificial light and technical possibilities of a photo studio. |

| Study outcome |

Upon completion of the course, students will:
1. know the technical requirements presented to the product photo: sharpness, light, geometry etc;
3. know different light types – diffused light, directed light, directed diffused light – and be able to use them in the light scheme by using different props – softboxes, reflectors, reverberators etc;
4. comprehend the logic of setting the light and be able to use an exponometer in setting up a light scheme;
5. be able to take a high-quality product photo by using the acquired technical skills. |
