| The objective is to give an overview of the history and principles of desktop publishing. Gain practical skills in the use of desktop publishing program Adobe InDesign. |

| Study outcome |

Upon completion of the course, students will:
1. understand the history and principles of desktop publishing;
2. have basic knowledge and skills related to formatting books, newspapers and magazines;
3. be able to design and desktop publish all forms of printed works;
4. be able to visualize ideas, situations, and/or professional design and be capable of realizing their ideas with the help of a desktop publishing program;
5. can apply fonts to differently oriented publications, combine the design and desktop publishing with the printed work’s content, form and orientation. |
