• Conservation/restoration of headbands.
• Conservation/restoration of cover materials.
• Conservation/restoration of metal parts.
• Preparing guidelines for documentation and preservation.
Aim
The objective is to acquire the conservation/restoration methods of the wooden covered bindings within the practical work.
Study outcome
Upon completion of the course, students will:
• be familiar with the constructions, used materials and their qualities of the wooden covered bindings;
• be able to identify different binding damages;
• select a suitable restoration method based on the binding's material and damages;
• perform practical conservation/restoration works based on the chosen method;
• be able to document the performed works.
