• Conservation/restoration of leather bindings with cardboard covers.
• Conservation/restoration of parchment bindings.
• Preparing guidelines for documentation and preservation.
Aim
The objective is to acquire the methods and practical work techniques used for the conservation/restoration of bindings.
Study outcome
Upon completion of the course, students will:
• be familiar with different binding materials and their qualities;
• be able to identify different binding damages;
• select a suitable restoration method based on the binding's material and damages;
• perform practical conservation/restoration works based on the chosen method;
• be able to document the performed works.
