General description
• Designing an original handbag, shoulder bag or backpack.
• Devising ideas, selecting the best design ideas and developing them further.
• Preparing the maquette based on the chosen conceptual design.
• Constructing patterns.
• Selecting suitable materials, decorative elements and fittings.
• Carrying out the best chosen idea in material.
Aim
The objective is to design an original handbag, shoulder bag or backpack and carry the best idea into practice. Complementing the work techniques and technical skills in practice. Designing a functional tote bag and carrying it out into practice. Practising presenting and developing ideas in practice.
Study outcome
Upon completion of the course, students will:
• be familiar with the history of the tote bags until today;
• analyse the application possibilities of tote bags nowadays;
• be capable of creating original conceptual designs with personal solutions and presenting them correctly;
• be capable of selecting suitable materials and techniques in carrying out the idea and use them innovatively;
• be familiar and know how to use the machines necessary to perform the work: different sewing machines and specific tools, additional aids;
• be familiar with different work techniques and apply them creatively in solving practical assignments.
