- have an integrated understanding of the key future trends, social functions and uses in society of photography and visual arts; - have knowledge of the function and implementation of culture as a whole; - be able to engage in photography and its diverse uses as a professional practice; - be able to generate creative ideas with a view to achieving innovative outcomes; - be able to selectively collect, critically analyse and effectively use specialized information; - be familiar with and able to choose appropriate techniques and tools for accomplishing professional tasks; - demonstrate initiative and planning and organizing abilities, good communication skills and enterprising spirit when working individually or as part of a team; - understand and manage the communication process between the artist and the customer; - be able to express themselves both orally and in writing in Estonian and in at least one foreign language; - take an active attitude to life, be tolerant of differences and peculiarities in society; - be critical, analytical and conscious of themselves as well as their surroundings and ethically ready to intervene in community affairs using professional means; - be qualified to work as a professional or an entrepreneur in the field; - be committed to creative and continuous self-improvement in terms of theory and practice.
