Aim

1. Provide high-quality professional higher education in the field of sculpture along with opportunities for specialisation in design or restoration.
2. Promote the acquisition of varied professional knowledge and skills in line with the changing demand in the labour market.
3. Educate the next generation of specialists and/or creative artists who boast independent thinking and decision-making ability and adaptability.
4. Prepare students for moving into post-graduate studies as well as for life-long learning and continuous self-development in other ways.

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the curriculum, students will:
- have an overview of contemporary sculpture, understand the future trends, functional mechanisms, the role and impact of sculpture in society;
- understand the cultural environment both in Estonia and in the world;
- be able to generate creative ideas and be willing to experiment with unconventional and innovative solutions;
- be able to design and execute orders for custom-made work, bearing in mind the aesthetic whole and best professional practices;
- be able to collect, select, analyse and critically evaluate professional information and respond to social needs;
- be able to use appropriate sculptural solutions for the execution of a professional task: methods, materials and tools;
- demonstrate initiative and planning and organizing abilities, good communication skills, enterprising spirit and a sense of responsibility, for accomplishing tasks either alone or as part of a team;
- understand and engage in the process of communication between the artist/designer/restorer and the customer, be able to offer the best solution for all parties;
- be able to express themselves on professional issues orally or in writing both in Estonian and in at least one foreign language;
- demonstrate tolerance towards the diversity of cultures, attitudes and values;
- be socially sensitive and ready to get involved in the promotion of creative consciousness of the society, understand the value of elite culture on the basis of their ethnic cultural heritage;
- be capable of using their knowledge and skills both as employee and employer;
- be committed to continuous self-improvement and life-long learning.
