Aim

1. Provide high-quality applied higher education in the field of sculpture with the specialisation in design or restoration;
2. enable the acquisition of versatile specialty-related knowledge and skills according to the labour market’s changing demands;
3. Educate the next generation of specialists and/or creative artists with the ability to adapt and think and make decisions independently;
4. Prepare students for their future master studies as well as for continuous self-development in other forms and life-long learning;

Study options

General module, module of specialty subjects and practical module: compulsory.

Module of elective and optional subjects: it is compulsory to select one of the two elective sets of general subjects (cf. curriculum modules).
Optional subjects can be selected from the subjects offered by Pallas and by other higher education institutions

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the curriculum, students will:
- have an overview about sculpture, comprehend its developments, functions and impacts in society
- comprehend the surrounding cultural environment in Estonia and as well on an international scale;
- be able to find creative ideas, devise and create original and innovative solutions;
- be able to design and make specialty-related custom-made works based on the aesthetic whole and best creative tradition;
- be able to collect, select, analyse and assess critically the specialty-related information and respond to societal processes;
- be able to find suitable sculptural solutions, techniques and materials for carrying out the specialty-related task;
- have the skills of organisation, communication and planning, and be initiative and responsible in working individually and in teams;
- comprehend and apply the communication process between an artist/designer or conservator/restorer and client;
- use their native language and at least one foreign language in expressing themselves professionally both orally as well as in writing;
- be tolerant towards different cultures, attitudes and values;
- be socially sensitive and active in developing the society’s creative consciousness and value the elite culture based on the national culture;
- use their native language and at least one foreign language in discussing the specialty-related problems orally as well as in writing:
- be able to apply their knowledge and skills, being either employers and/or employees.
- be ready for continuous self-development and life-long learning
