Aim1. Provide high-quality professional higher education in the field of painting and monumental art along with opportunities for specialisation in design or restoration.

Module of elective and optional subjects: it is compulsory to select one of the three elective sets of general subjects (see modules of the curriculum); optional subjects can be selected from among the optional subject courses offered by TAC (about 10 courses each term) and by other higher education institutions. Specialisations: Before making the choice, the students are given a broad introduction to both areas of specialisation as part of the general module, worth 6 ECTS. Final project 15 ECTS Learning outcomesUpon successful completion of the curriculum, students will:
- understand the future trends, functional mechanisms and the social role of painting and monumental art; -- understand the implementation mechanisms in the area of culture; - be able to practice painting and monumental art and/or conservation/restoration; - be able to generate creative ideas and have the courage to experiment with innovative solutions; - collect, select, analyse and critically evaluate professional information; - be able to consciously choose appropriate techniques, materials and tools for the execution of a professional task; - demonstrate initiative, good communication skills, enterprising spirit, planning and organizing abilities and a sense of responsibility, either working alone or as part of a team; - understand and engage in the process of communication between the artist/designer or conservator/restorer and the customer; - be able to express themselves both orally or in writing in Estonian and in at least one foreign language; - play an active role in the civil society, demonstrate tolerance towards the diversity of cultures, attitudes and values; - have high ethical values and the ability to engage in critical self-reflection, be socially conscious and resilient, be able to notice what happens around them and be ready to interfere using professional means; - be qualified to work as monumental artist/designer and/or conservator/restorer; - be committed to creative and continuous self-improvement in terms of theory and practice.
