The objective is to give an overview of the history and principles of desktop publishing. Gain practical skills in the use of desktop publishing program Adobe InDesign.

Upon completion of the course, students will:
1. understand the history and principles of desktop publishing;
2. have basic knowledge and skills related to formatting books, newspapers and magazines;
3. be able to design and desktop publish all forms of printed works;
4. be able to visualize ideas, situations, and/or professional design and be capable of realizing their ideas with the help of a desktop publishing program;
5. can apply fonts to differently oriented publications, combine the design and desktop publishing with the printed work’s content, form and orientation.
