General description

• Introduction to 3D graphics and its capabilities,
• General introduction into Lightwave 3D Modeler program
• Introduction into the processes of Lightwave 3D Modeler program
• Elementary and advanced aspects of modelling
• Advanced education of Lightwave 3D Modeler program
• Basics of texturing
• General introduction into Lightwave 3D Layout program
• Basics of lighting and scene construction

Aim

The objective is to develop three-dimensional thinking, and introduce the capabilities of 3D graphics. To teach modelling, materials, illumination. To introduce the use of 3D-graphics options in graphic design, product development and screen media.

Study outcome

Upon completion of the course, students will:
1. have basic knowledge of 3D graphics principles and possibilities;
2. be able to implement its basic systems on the programming level,
3. be capable of generating a 3D object with a texture,
4. be able to build an uncomplicated scene with lights and cameras, and be able to create a visual rendering, at least at a basic level.
