Subject 'Video. Genres of Video Directing'

• Exploring different genres. Particular emphasis will be given to the documentary genre
• Exploring the characteristic patterns of documentary film and composing these themselves. Learning the creation of a purposeful narrative
• Learning to perceive the general and the singular and specific amidst it, and their interrelationship

The objective is to advance the knowledge gained in the Elementary Video Directing and to supplement the editing skills in the video editing program Avid; work with an idea; video recording and preparation for editing; forming an idea into an audio-visual purposeful narrative; development of creative thinking and teaching the audiovisual narration skill and sense of composition; understanding and analysing the picture and sound language of the video.

Upon completion of the course, students will:
1. understand the nature of documentary films and be able to see the whole from the interaction of the various elements;
2. be able to express themselves through documentaries - from developing an idea to the practical skills.
