Subject 'Fundamentals of Design'Name in Estonian: Disaini alused
General description various lecturers and topics, lectures, study visits, movies and videos;
introduction to design, design in broader context/design as a process; creative industry as a trigger for innovation, creative industry in Estonia and in the world; brand and entrepreneurship; applied art and design, design policy; Estonian applied art/design and designers; practical example – work as a designer; intellectual property as a right, its types (copyright and industrial design right, trademarks and inventions) and the importance of its protection. AimTo provide an overview of the specifics of design, creative industry, brand and entrepreneurship. To provide students with sufficient information, in order to support them in their choice between the specialty modules.
Study outcomeUpon completion, students will:
