General description Space typology;
The interior of social and habitable buildings and the fundamentals based on their specificity of space; Normative framework in design. Lighting. Acoustics; The specific materials used in interior; The broader view of environment, mostly urban space and its possible use, considering different interest groups; Virtual space. Aim To provide the basic knowledge of the space typology and the normative framework of design;
To introduce the specific materials used in the interior, their qualities and suitability to the requirements concerning the materials, based on the use of space (e.g. fire and abrasion resistance etc.); To introduce different technical possibilities that are related to the lighting design and improving the space acoustics; To provide the comprehensive knowledge of the possibilities and specifics of using and including public space. To provide an overview of the specifics of creating a virtual environment. Study outcomeUpon completion, students will
be aware of the different types and specifics of habitable and public spaces; be aware of the standards regulating interior design; be aware of the basic lighting-technical solutions and the standards regulating the use of lighting in different types of building; be aware of the characteristics of different light sources and their suitability for the space needs; be aware of the main principles of space acoustics; be aware of how to use public space according to the needs of different interest groups; comprehend the specifics of creating a virtual space.
