General descriptionAn overview of the conservation process and documentation, technical and methodological possibilities and requirements of documentation. An overview of the damages characteristic to various object groups, their reasons, preservation conditions and the principles of storage and maintenance.
Exhibition requirements for different objects, and materials and devices used in exhibition. An overview of the principles, requirements and devices of transportation of cultural heritage objects. AimTo provide the basic knowledge of describing different objects, identifying their conditions and damages, preservation requirements, principles of exhibition and safe transportation.
Study outcomeUpon completion, students will:
be aware of the documentation principles and the role of documentation in the conservation process; have an overview of the technical possibilities used in documentation; be able to describe an object, its condition and damages and the conservation process; be aware of the requirements for preservation of different objects; be able to store and label the objects; be aware of the requirements for object exhibition; be able to select suitable cases, exhibition and transportation requisites for the objects.
