• Middle Age, sacral architecture in Estonia compared with Sweden, Germany and Finland. • Decorations from Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo. • Classicism in manors. • Historicism and Art Nouveau. • Using wallpaper in historic decoration design. • Accomplishing an e-study assignment, presentation on the chosen topic. AimThe objective is to provide an overview about the main historical interior decoration techniques and their methods.
Study outcomeUpon completion of the course, students will:
• have acquired the knowledge that helps them to understand the connection between the development of Estonian interior and European cultural space; • be familiar with the decoration elements of different historical periods and be able to describe the most common techniques and working practices; • be able to create a complete spatial picture from single elements; • be capable of creating a subject-based analysis and present it through the means of e-learning; • perceive the connections between different subjects; • be aware of the importance of preserving cultural assets.
