General description• Different possibilities and methods in watercolour painting.
• Painting a still-life and portrait by using different watercolour techniques (layer-by-layer, wet-to-wet, monochrome blending, washing out, overpainting, brush-stroke technique etc.). • Organising a composition of picture surface. • The essence of colouring and the laws of the colour contrast. Study outcomeUpon completion of the course, students will:
• be aware of different possibilities and methods of watercolour painting and have the skills to apply them; • be able to paint a still-life purposefully and technically correctly; • be realistic in depicting an object, by following the practices of depicting form and space; • be able to create an interesting compositional whole; • be flexible in colouring; • be able to create a pictorial whole.
