Collecting inspiration, analysis of the target group, collection design, finishing sketches. Weaving a designer rug on the hand loom, quality requirements for floor rugs. Presenting the collection of designs and the rug, compiling a portfolio. Study outcomeHaving passed the course the student
has acquired an overview of trends and design principles in designer rug creation; is able to make decisions and analyse connections of material and design in creating a designer rug; is prepared to consider technical conditions and limitations of the weaver company in the design process; is independently able to design and weave a rug on the hand loom; is able to present their designs and the rug in a portfolio as well as in a presentation to an assessment committee and justify their decisions.
