Designer's view on the handcrafted product.
Role of the textile designer in creation of materials.

Study outcome

Having passed the course the student
recognises the importance of product development in the design process;
is able to plan and analyse the design process;
is familiar with methods of target group analysis;
is able to analyse a handcrafted product in terms of production and functions;
is familiar with and able to analyse trends and employs methods of contemporary design in their product design process;
is able to visualise ideas, manage design processes and seek cooperation for production of their designs;
is familiar with materials as well as their functions and able to analyse suitability of materials for a design concept;
is able to present their product, describe the working process and justify decisions;
is able to predict potential success of their product.
