• Designing a guest book by using abstract images and taking the specifics of a modelling technique into consideration.
• Decorating techniques of the book cover design and block edge.
• Designing a faceted box while taking the specifics of intarsia and batik techniques into consideration.
• Designing a crossed structure binding while taking the specifics of veining into consideration.
• Designing a limited surface with a limited number of elements.

Upon completion of the course, students will:
• be able to make a creative design for a binding by using abstract images;
• be able to create a complete a compositional work on limited surface;
• understand and be aware of how to take the specifics of modelling technique, intarsia, veining and batik into consideration in design;
• have the knowledge about the design styles of a block edge;
• be able to clearly explain their ideas and concepts.
