Subject 'Speciality-related Elective'Name in Estonian: Eriala valikaine
AimThe objective is to provide the students with the theoretical and practical skills in the fields that are not part of their daily studies, but which are exciting and broadening the horizon. People outside from the school often carry out the specialty electives and projects, which in turn will provide the students with an opportunity to become familiar with novel work techniques or methods. In case of foreign lecturers, these courses will help the students to strengthen their professional foreign languages.
Selection of topics: • conservation bindings; • different-shaped bindings; • gilding a binding; • gilding a binding's block edge; • paper mache technique for small objects; • footwear modelling; • serigraphy; • exhibition project. Study outcomeUpon completion of the course, students will:
• be able to analyse and assess the theoretical knowledge provided within the courses; • have acquired the practical work techniques/methods introduced within the courses; • be able to work together with other students and visitors participating in the courses.
