Aim

The objective is to provide the basic theoretical-practical knowledge about the conservation/restoration of different leather objects. The objective of the project is is to prepare the students to participate in different restoration projects and develop their team work skills.

Study outcome

Upon completion of the course, students will:
• be able to identify different leather objects and assess their conditions;
• be familiar with the principles of different restoration methods, and be able to analyse them and use them according to the need;
• be able to document the performed works.
• prepare the preservation guidelines and if needed, prepare the protective means for the object;
• apply the theoretical and practical experiences acquired during the study in different projects offered by restoration companies;
• comprehend the working procedures resulting from the specifics of the institution;
• be ready for a team work in restoration projects with the restorers from different fields of specialities;
• represent the team in the specialty-related events, if needed.
