General descriptionDesigning leather garment (design, construction, technology and sewing).
• Overview about the glove's anthology, function, development and meaning over times. • Theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to pass through and document the preparation cycle (from the design to the ready-made object) of a product. • Practical work: - analysing the suitability of the materials; - solving problems regarding the technologies; - using performance and finishing techniques. AimThe objective is to ensure a sufficient preparation for designing the leather gloves.
Study outcomeUpon completion of the course, students will:
• have the knowledge about different constructions of gloves, be able to recognize them and explain their differences; • be able to synthesise new interesting design solutions by combining different constructions and technologies; • have the basic knowledge about the specifics of leather glove and be able to find the suitable one; • be familiar with the techniques of creating composition characteristic to gloves and apply them creatively in practice; • be capable of developing a suitable technical solution and carry out in practice. • be able to clearly and logically justify their choices.
