General description• Introduction, documenting an object’s condition
• Determining the upholstery type and deconstruction • Mending the construction and correcting the surface finish • Restoring the surface finish • Creating semisoft or soft upholstery for the object based on the type of upholstery used • Mounting the top surface material • Presentation Study outcomeUpon completion of the course, students will:
• be able to assess the condition of an object and prepare its restoration plan; • be able to differentiate upholstery types; • be able to remove unsuitable surface finish if needed; • be able to preserve the information acquired during the deconstruction of the upholstery; • be familiar with the basic materials and techniques used in upholstering; • be familiar with the making of simple upholstery types.
