• Engraving procedures, individual supervision

Study outcome

Upon completion of the course, students will:
• have an overview of different methods and techniques of wood carving (cross grain and long grain carving);
• be familiar with different types of carving (low relief, high relief, layered relief, semi sculptural relief);
• be familiar with the cutting characteristics of different wood species;
• have an overview of available chisels and their maintenance principles;
• be familiar with the most common wood marking and measuring tools;
• be able to do most common wood engravings;
• be familiar with the safety rules.
