General description• the logic of multimedia projects: differences from photography and film projects;
• multimedia as the character of the medium; the content, planning, process; • practical application of the possibilities of different software to execute a creative project; mind-map; • the aspects of using using raster graphics, vector graphics, animation and sound to create a multimedia artwork; • optimizing and correcting a creative project so it corresponds with actual resources and possibilities; • the originality of the project; analyzing and assessing originality; • judging the application possibilities and the creativity of a project; interactivity as a phenomenon; assessing and analyzing the project; planning the publication format (Flash, internet, and other multimedia environments); • adding graphic/drawing elements; • creating different interactive links; • importing photo/sound/video media; • the basics of the general user-logic of web-interfaces; • usability (ease of use - usability - interaction) • readability (readability - colors-fonts-layout) • programmability/extendabity (the ease with which a finish work can be refreshed-renewed-complemented). AimTo learn to use the possibilities of contemporary multimedia and computer environment for independent creative work and applied assignments.
Study outcomeOn successful completion of this course the students should be able to:
• know the possibilities and applications of contemporary multimedia • create a mind-map representation, based on original ideation, of an applied work/piece of art; • can combine the application efficiency of different software to achieve an original result; • perceive speciality-related and interdisciplinary borders; • make creative decisions to achieve alternative and unorthodox results; • differentiate between approaches that produce standard results from those that enable the maximum; • provide new creative solutions in one's work; • analyze their strengths and weaknesses when working on multimedia creative projects; • insert new materials into a completed work (images, audio, etc). • can independently upload their work a web-environment and make it available on an automatically opening CD-ROM.
