General description

• the logic of working with a film camera and how this differs from work with a stills camera;
• technical equipment for filming: film cameras, tripods, lighting, etc;
• contemporary film camera types and domains of use;
• static shot, dynamic shot; pan; zoom-in, zoom-out;
• the possibilities and combinations of static and dynamic shots
• cinematographic "edit"
• the principle of complementarity in filming: polyscopic description in cinematography.

Study outcome

On successful completion of this course the students should be able to:

• have basic knowledge and skills of the cinematography techniques;
• have at least a basic understanding of cinematography equipment;
• film static and dynamic shots;
• use cinematographic "edit";
• be aware of the principles for cinematographic representation of objects, scenes and situations;
• be aware of the differences between film and photography equipment;
