General description• film as a narrative, the basics of dramaturgy;
• from treatment to scenario: film in words • film language and film grammar: from mise-en-scène to montage; • film genres and the characteristics involved; • the short formats of film art (advertisement, music video) and alternative techniques (animation, photo film); • documentary film and and its characteristics. Study outcomeOn successful completion of this course the students should be able to:
• have basic knowledge of classical approach to drama • express, as precisely as possible, image-based ideas in words and vice versa; • know the grammar of film language; • have basic knowledge of the expressive elements of cinema, and the diversity involved; • choose a suitable form for their idea; • perceive the differences between the two centrally temporal forms of art: photography and cinema.
