Aim

The objective is to provide students of the specialty of conservation/restoration with a possibility to strengthen their specialty-related theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired during the study process in the real work environment, to enable the students to get familiar with the work procedures and specifics in the institutions that often will become their main employers after the graduation.

Study outcome

Upon completion of the course, students will:
• comprehend the specialty-related terminology and know the main normative documents regarding the professional ethics and standards;
• apply the main requirements of the employment protection in organising the work environment;
• select the methods, tools, materials and chemicals that would be suitable to carry out the works given by the supervisors;
• be capable of conserving/restoring bindings, paper materials or leather objects according to the chosen methods and document the performed works properly;
• comprehend the working procedures resulting from the specifics of the institution;
• participate in a team work with employees from other institutions.
