General description• the possibilities, approaches, uses of free-hand drawing;
• the different approaches to drawing characters; • the fundamentals of comics structure; narrative; • using text in free-hand drawing/comics • free-hand live drawing; • drawing imaginary scenes; • using sketches/drawings to visualize one's aims for the potential client; Aim• to learn to use sketching for the preparation of speciality/photography projects;
• to learn narrative expression by means of free-hand drawing; • to learn to express oneself by means of alternative methods of expression; Study outcomeOn successful completion of this course the students should be able to:
• understand the principles, creative and practical possibilities of free-hand drawing; • relate to graphic novel/comics format and its narrative in a contemporary context; • make expressive comics on a basic level; create characters; • perceive the ways live drawing sketches can be used in the creative work of their own speciality; • communicate their aims/visions to the client/consumer by using sketches and drafts; • have a creative and critical attitude on the end result; Is taught in following curricula2016: 2271
