General description• Introductory lecture. Introduction to graphics techniques, photos introducing techniques, examples from the Estonian contemporary graphics and experimental graphics.
• Practical work. Experiments with different techniques and materials. • Creating motif repetitions, rhythms and surfaces by using printing plates. Combining different techniques and materials. • Developing concepts according to the given topic. Discussion and analysis. • Carrying out concepts into technique/techniques. • Completing the work. • Independent work. Study outcomeUpon completion of the course, students will:
• be able to distinguish between different graphics techniques, understand the developmental aspects of graphics and be aware with the most important works of Estonian graphic artists; • be able to carry out and combine different graphics techniques, and be able to use them in putting their ideas into practice; • be capable of presenting the design aesthetically clearly and understandably; • be able to think creatively when applying graphics techniques and combining them with an independent creations; • be able to analyse their works and justify their choices of techniques used in their works; • be capable of installing their works in the exhibition context.
