AimThe objective is to provide basic knowledge for conducting pre-conservation scientific research using modern tools.

- Scientific methods in conservation of wall paintings - introducing the principal methods - collecting the test material - making cross-sections and analysing them - use of stereomicroscope in the research on wall finishes Study outcomeUpon completion of the course, students have acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the main research methods needed to preserve wall paintings and describe their condition.
Students will: -be able to collect the basic material neccessary for research, -reinforce the skills needed to make cross-sections and analyse them, -be able to use a stereomicroscope for materials research, -be able to use the collected data to describe the object Is taught in following curricula2019: 2266
