• Creating a self-portrait • Printable materials • Overprint • Completing an advertising product • Overview of the history of printing industry and different printing methods; • The terminology, technology, equipment, measurement systems and working methods of letterpress printing; • Group assignment in printing a mini graphics. AimThe objective is to prepare the visuals of vector graphics and pixel graphics for the serigraph printing; understand serigraphy as a printing subtype; support creative thinking and develop the sense of composition; help understanding and finding new innovative ideas and practical skills in the serigraph printing.
Study outcomeUpon completion of the course, students will:
1. comprehend the attributes of serigraphy as a printing method; 2. comprehend serigraphy as a graphic method; 3. be able to design and produce innovative advertising products; 4. be able to prepare visuals for the serigraph printing. 5. be able to appreciate the historic working processes and combine them with modern solutions; 6. comprehend the specific graphic and typographic style of letterpress; 7. be able to use letterpress printing in creating images, if needed.
